Counselling and Psychotherapy

$160

Individual counselling and psychotherapy sessions to support your growth and move through challenges. Counselling refers to short-term focused work usually 6-10 sessions, to address a specific issue. Psychotherapy on the other hand, is longer-term and deeper, 10+ sessions. I have training and experience in working with following mental health presentations: trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, identity difficulties, life transitions, separation/divorce, use or experience of violence in relationships and expat/migrant issues.

Group Therapy

$70

Interpersonal Group Therapy is a powerful modality in which individuals can share their experiences, learn from others, and gain insight into their own feelings and behaviors. Group therapy allows members to give and receive feedback, develop interpersonal skills, and practice new ways of relating to others. It also provides a space for emotional growth, self-reflection, and personal healing. Through the shared experience, group members often find strength, understanding, and connection, which can lead to meaningful change and personal development. I have been facilitating groups for the last four years in both clinical and community settings.

Integration

$160

Psychedelic integration therapy is a therapeutic process designed to help you make sense of and incorporate insights, emotions, or experiences that arise during a psychedelic experience. After a psychedelic journey, whether in a clinical setting or a personal context, you may encounter profound realisations, challenging emotions, or spiritual insights. Integration therapy provides a safe, supportive space to explore these experiences, helping you to understand their meaning and apply them to everyday life. The goal is to ensure that the insights gained lead to positive, lasting changes in mental health, relationships, or personal growth, rather than leaving you feeling overwhelmed or confused.

About Me

My approach to mental health:

My approach is grounded in a humanistic, person-centred and existential framework. I see suffering as an inherent and unavoidable part of the human experience. As painful as it is to suffer, I firmly believe that it is when we stop and confront our pain, problems or issues that growth happens, relief ensues and beauty emerges.

My aim is to provide you with a nurturing, collaborative, safe, non-judgemental space to do deep psychological work. I do this with empathy, by actively listening to your story, looking for patterns and connections and reflecting them back to you which in turn will support you to increase your self-awareness, process emotions and empower you to live a life that feels authentic and meaningful to you.

Ultimately, my goal is to support you to connect to yourself, others and the world around you in more meaningful ways.

I am a native Spanish speaker and offer sessions in Spanish.

My name is Jimena and I am a registered psychotherapist working from my private practice Momento Psychotherapy in St Kilda East. I came to be a therapist by first being a client. After experiencing the healing and growth that came from the relationship with my therapist, I trained to become one and have never looked back. There is no other job that I would rather do. Nothing interests me more than the human experience in all its complexity.

Since obtaining a Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy, I have worked in a variety of contexts such as a community mental health clinic, women’s prisons and more recently a private hospital specialising in trauma and addiction.

Two other modalities that I work with are Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy and Group Therapy. I have completed specialist training in both and continue to deliver group therapy and psychedelic-assisted therapy in my clinical work at a private hospital.
